Paul holds a bachelors degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Master Trainer at Peak. He has been training clients of all ages and abilities since 2011. In addition to his CSCS, he also is certified in Strong First Kettlebell Level 1 and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. Prior to joining the Peak team, Paul was the fitness director at Central Mass Physical Therapy for 2 years. He is also certified in Postural Respiration, Myokinematic Restoration and has become a NeuroMotive coach. Although there are other trainers with the same number of years of experience, there are few that have his knowledge base, education and exposure to this depth of training and coaching.
Paul’s philosophy is to over-deliver each and every session and provide an experience that is both educational and gets results. He strives to keep his clients engaged and driven to help them reach their goals.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Clark University and an Associates in Physical Therapy from Becker College in Worcester.
In October of 2008, Paul created and developed Peak Fitness to promote fitness, health and weight loss without risking the injuries that began increasing with the boot camp and CrossFit boom. He uses his knowledge and background in physical therapy to help boot campers and personal training clients overcome injury and achieve maximum results in fitness and weight loss.
With over a decade of experience in the field of physical therapy, Paul has become proficient in multiple areas of manual techniques including Myofascial Massage, Myofascial Release, Strain Counter Strain and is certified in both Mulligan Mobilizations and The Graston Technique® levels I and II. He has been employed at some of the best outpatient/sports rehabilitation facilities in central Massachusetts including South County Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Innovations and Worcester Physical Therapy Services. Paul is able to use the skills learned in the PT field to help his clients and boot camp members overcome injury and work their way back to health!
Being a former collegiate athlete, he began training athletes as part of their rehabilitation program and getting them ready to return to their sport. Through the years, it has become his passion!
From 2003-2007, he designed the preseason strength and conditioning program for the Clark University Women’s Basketball Team. During that time, his players achieved the following:
NCAA appearances: 1
NEWMAC Conference Championships: 1
NEWMAC Conference Finalist: 2
NEWMAC Player Of The Year: 2
NEWMAC All Conference Selections: 6
D3 Hoops Northeast All Regional Selections: 3
In 2012 Paul created Hit Fit, which is a baseball program designed around hitting fundamentals and proper strength and agility techniques for players ages 11 and up. He implemented Hit Fit with the Shrewsbury Colonials (an AAU team) and in the following 3 years, they achieved a 65-20 record while advancing to the regional playoffs each year.
Paul’s focus and motivation is to help anyone and everyone succeed in their quest for fitness, health or athletic performance regardless of age, ability or medical history.
